i think the people of crown heights need money for there own stuff why does everyone donate for the Israeli's who come to new york when there are thousands of dollars needed for crown heights families with out food on the table

Goodness and Kindness
It's a hotel for shluchim and baalei batim or people who come for shabbatons, and it will surely benefit also the local residents, as many people prefer to have their own little space even for a reasonable fee. so they won't have to stay by those families that you described as poor.
It won't hurt if you would have more positive outlook on good things that are done.
